Water pumps are used to move water from one point to another, and can be submersible or external. In order to ensure that water is available at sufficient pressure at all times, small pressure tanks are utilized, usually mounted adjacent to the pump, so that the pump (which senses changes in the pressure of the system caused by the flow of water) does not have to turn itself on and off every time someone opens a tap.
The Pentax CAM series is a self-priming centrifugal pump ideal for household application.

Question:
What information does one need to determine the right size pump?
Answer:
To determine the right size pump you must know the voltage, system load (GPM), pipe size, vertical lift, horizontal run, number and type of fittings, and back pressure at the discharge point, if any. Additionally, you must determine whether a single or dual pump operation is desired, how the pump is to be controlled, and if it is an indoor or outdoor application.
